About

Shadow Recall is a synthwave producer from the UK. He creates emotive, nostalgic music shaped by the sounds, fading memories, and neon lights of the 80s.

He grew up in the 80s and started producing music on his Amiga 500 in the early 90s, using tracker software such as Protracker. He is also an accomplished drummer, and studied music technology at school and sound engineering at college. He discovered the synthwave genre in the mid 2010s and was immediately hooked. The genre inspired him to return to music production.

He makes use of advances in computer power and the incredible software instruments available today. He uses Ableton Live on a MacBook Pro and software synths such as Diva, TAL-U-NO-LX and the Arturia V Collection. He appreciates the wonderful presets of talented people like Oblivion Sound Lab and The Unfinished, and he is a big fan of Splice.
